Lower Sacramento Striped Bass -

There are two populations of Striped bass in the Lower Sacramento River the "migratory" run of fish that enters the river in March and makes their way up river in large schools to spawn through May and our "resident" population of fish that are in the system year round. Fish average from 12"- to true trophies in the 30-50lbs class. Hogan has pioneered this fishery with a fly rod. He is the first licensed Captain to guide Fly Fishing year round for striped bass on the Lower Sacramento River and is widely regarded as a leading innovator in river striper fishing.

Foothill Bass

California has some of the premier Spotted Bass Fisheries in the country. Spotted Bass fishing on the foothill and valley lakes is best during the winter months and fish during the time when most rivers are blown out. There are many options for fishing for these fish, but this is home to Float’n Fly innovators like Ryan Williams and Chuck Ragan. That said there are options to fish stripped flies and topwater at any time. Great options for beginners or those looking to try something different.

PRIME TIME: December -April and Summer evenings and early AM’s
